I have seen a number of interviews with Tzipi Hotovely (and other Zionist politicians) try to justify their killing of children in Gaza ( having first denied that they are doing it!) by saying that it is no worse than what the Americans did to the Japanese or how many civilians the British killed bombing Germany in the second world war. Apart from the obvious fact that what happened back then was morally reprehensible and anyone in their right mind would never want to see such things repeated, the interviewers have never pointed out to her that the 4th Geneva Convention treaty was drawn up in 1949, after the horrors of the previous years, to protect civilian populations in times of war. (Key Provisions: Protection from violence: Civilians are protected from murder, torture, and brutality, and from discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, or political opinion. Treatment of protected persons: The convention outlines the conditions under which protected persons, who are civilians in the hands of the enemy, can be interned (detained) and specifies the conditions of their detention. Rights of civilians in occupied territories: The convention addresses the rights of civilians living in occupied territories, including their right to food, shelter, medical care, and the right to maintain their cultural and religious practices) These things are legal obligations Does the "most moral Army in the world" not recognise this treaty? Why is she not asked about it? Israel is clearly in violation of many of the key provisions listed above (and others) so why is she even allowed to remain in this country without being arrested as an apologist for war crimes?
