Political upheaval continues: Gadi Eisenkot calls on small parties to drop out of the race
Following Gilad Erdan's announcement that the Unity Party is withdrawing from the elections, MK Gadi Eisenkot called on other parties hovering near the electoral threshold to act responsibly and withdraw in order to allow for a change of government.

A call for national responsibility
In a dramatic move that is shaking up the political system ahead of the upcoming elections, MK Gadi Eisenkot welcomed Gilad Erdan's decision to withdraw the Unity Party's candidacy from the race. Eisenkot defined the move as a responsible and leadership-driven decision, which he stated could significantly increase the chances of replacing the current government.
Pressure on small parties
Eisenkot did not stop at praise; he sent a clear message to the remaining parties hovering near the electoral threshold. He emphasized that at this time, it is appropriate for every party to act with the same degree of responsibility and place the good of the country before any narrow political consideration. According to him, the fragmentation of votes in the center-left camp poses a real danger to the ability to form a broad Zionist government that will bring healing and restoration to the people of Israel after a long period of instability.
Political clashes in the background
Alongside his call, Eisenkot reiterated his claims from the past week regarding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's conduct during sensitive security events in the past. Eisenkot stood by his version of events, asserting that Netanyahu was unavailable for many hours during the F-16 downing incident in 2018, and called on the Prime Minister to release his diaries to clarify the sequence of events to the public.
